Eusebia F. Hardy Collection

Theatre programs and pamphlets compose a significant portion of the collection. A majority are from theatres found in Europe and the northeastern United States. A handful are from theatres in and around Detroit. Other records include recipes found on cards and in books. None of these appear related to Flint and Genesee County.

The records detailing history in Flint and Genesee County predominantly cover St. Paul’s Church and the Golden Jubilee of Flint (held in 1879). Other records detail the early history of Flint and correspondence from the 1840s and 1850s.

Past practices described the contents of this collection individually. Each item received an object ID number and was treated as a distinct artifact. Records have been reunited, but their original order may have been lost.

No restrictions. Researchers must contact the Collections Department to arrange use.

The collection is housed in seven legal-length full Hollinger boxes. The boxes are several decades old. Loose leaf papers are housed in folders. Books can be found inside and outside folders. Some of the folders are acid-free. Plastic bags house some of the smaller books. Not all were removed during processing.

Many of the pamphlets are frayed along their edges. Crease marks are visible across many. Most remain in fair condition. Papers have yellowed slightly.

No restrictions. Reproduction is done under guidelines developed by the Collections Department.
