Conditions of access and use elements

Conditions governing access

No restrictions. Contact the Collections Department to arrange use for research.

Physical access

Both bills are paper-based. The German bill is died with blue ink. The Russian bill with red ink. A single acid-free folder houses both bills with a slip of acid-free paper placed between them.

Despite their age, both bills remain in fair condition. Crease marks crisscross both. The paper remains flexible, but they should be handled with care that tears not form or become larger. White sections of them have yellowed and inks on them have slightly faded.
