This collection contains letters and postcards addressed to Herman and Laura Bekofske of Flint, Michigan during World War II. They were written by three individuals who were stationed in Germany, France, Japan, India and the Philippines. The letters and postcard messages reflect the lived experience of the soldiers including work, leisure, and housing.

The materials came without original order and were organized by solider and date

Physical access

The letters and postcards are paper and stored in an acid-free folder separated by a sheet of acid-free paper. Three of the letters on are in a V Mail format and are 4.25X4.5. The letters were removed from their envelopes and stored together.
